Community Led Housing Enabler

I spent three years supporting communities across Wales to create their own housing projects including Aberdyfi Community Trust, Llanbrynmair Cohousing Project, Abbeyfield Aberystwyth, Machynlleth Housing Co-op, Dyfi Housing Co-op and Tir Cyffredin Housing Co-op. I helped Tir Cyffredin develop their project from first idea to house purchase, supporting them to raise £140,000 in loan stock and £9,000 in grants. The house will provide affordable accommodation in Machynlleth for at least the next 40 years, housing hundreds of people over its lifetime, creating vibrant community living experiences and empowering members. I lived in a housing co-op for 7 years so I have first hand knowledge of how important these spaces are for personal growth and development, security of tenure and skills building. Mach Housing Coop

I lived in a housing coop in Machynlleth, mid-Wales for 7 years. 11 of us lived in two houses. Living in a coop changed my life and I wanted to help others do the same.
